Footscray House
Additions & Alterations
Within the embrace of heritage, this single fronted weathered abode longed for tender care. The clients cherished the original façade, but the house yearned for essentials, lacking rear access and even an indoor toilet!
The site, a rarity, held a rear expanse that beckoned with expansive views. Orienting west to east, the solution emerged—a southerly shift for the new living spaces, providing the opportunity to create a lush corridor along the north.
The extension, a graceful nod to history, embodied sustainability. Tall north-facing windows ushers in sunlight, while strategically placed openings allowed for natural ventilation.
